Casa Colombo

Scroll

Originally built by an Indian muslim family in the 19th century and set in a private cul de sac in downtown Colombo, Casa Colombo is a grand colonial mansion which has been converted into a fascinating boutique hotel. The owner is a local designer/architect who has introduced many bold modern design elements which marry well with the classic colonial aesthetic. Ornate ceiling plasterwork and lovely mosaic floors can be seen throughout, and the restaurant features a huge, old electric fan in with two massive blades. An outside covered bar is popular with locals and guests alike. A personal butler is assigned to each room and always on hand to assist. The swimming pool is slotted into the courtyard to the rear. Each suite is different, many with two huge rooms, one the bedroom and one the bathroom, some having huge copper clad baths. This is definitely the boutique hotel to be used for your stay in Colombo.
