Raja4Divers
Situated in the Raja Ampat region, on the beautiful private island of Pulau Pef, Raja4Divers is the perfect comfortable accommodation for keen divers. Designed, as the name suggests, purely to indulge the sport, we would recommend this location primarily for guests who want to focus solely on diving during their stay, as the hotel boasts few other activities for non-divers.
Diving is the main activity at the resort, and as such the facilities are fantastic. With a maximum of four guests per guide, you are sure to be well looked after and are able to tailor your dives to fulfil your wishes. The house reef just off the island is particularly good for night dives, whilst there is an impressive selection of over 60 nearby dive sites, all within 5-70 minutes boat trip from the resort.
The 10 rooms are authentic Papuan water style bungalows, positioned along the beautiful coconut fringed beach. The bungalows are open-fronted to maximise air flow, and large front decking areas facilitate total immersion in the nature of the island. All decorations and furnishings are made on site.
The restaurant is designed to be the heart of the resort, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as tea, coffee and snacks throughout the day. The large communal dining table promotes friendships to form between like-minded guests. The majority of the fresh produce and seafood is purchased from locals who visit the island on boats.
The bar and sunset lounge is the perfect place to meet fellow guests after a long day’s diving and share your stories of the marine delights encountered that day. Hammocks, beanbags and lounge chairs are scattered around to provide a comfortable sport from which to marvel at the exquisite sunsets over the ocean. After sunset, the Pef band will perform songs and dances under the starry sky.
The resort’s on-site massage therapist is available throughout the day, and will visit your bungalow to treat your mind and body to some well-deserved relaxation after exhilarating days on the ocean. There are many marine life identification books in the main lodge, as well as literature and a selection of board games.in the evenings the staff will often start a game of ping pong or volleyball and guests are encouraged to join in with the friendly competition!
Facilities
Restaurant, bar, shower, massage therapist, mosquito nets, private decking areas. Diving facilities are impressive, including three boats, tanks, weights, dive computers and dive lights. Nitrox systems are also available to use free of charge. There is an air conditioned camera room which photographers can use to store and set up their equipment.
Local Wildlife
During a typical week, it is possible to see varieties of schooling fish, Pygmy Seahorses, Nudibranchs and small critters, Wobbegong Sharks, Reef sharks, endemic Raja Ampat Walking Sharks (Bamboo Shark), Bumphead Parrotfishes, Turtles, Giant Trevallys, Barracudas, Manta Rays and almost every Reef fish and critter you can find in books. Of course you will also find some of the healthiest hard and soft corals, which are the reason that scientists have named Raja Ampat "the Earth’s richest seascape".
Optional Activities
Board games, chess, massage, kayaking on the hidden lake, exploring the hidden beach, climbing the house mountain to experience stunning panoramic views, trekking through the jungle to discover the islands bird life.
