Royal Orchid Metropole

Scroll

A member of the renowned Royal Orchid Hotels group, the Royal Orchid Metropole is widely considered t be amongst the best hotels in Mysore. Located in the heart of the city, and spread over 2.5km of beautiful land, the hotel is situated within the historical home of the former Maharaja of Mysore, built in 1920. Its heritage provides a beautiful setting for a hotel, with a fusion of old-world charm and modern touches.

There are two restaurants on-site: Shikari – an al-fresco option serving international cuisine; and Tiger Trail – offering traditional Indian delights. Additionally, the High Tea café lounge is perfect for afternoon treats, whilst the Skan’Del lounge bar is lovely in the evenings.

Three categories of room are available: the entry-level Royal Rooms are well-appointed and spacious; Heritage Rooms are larger and more opulently decorated, and the Maharaja Suites larger still, offering wonderful views over the pool from their private balcony.

Facilities

Rooms are equipped with balconies, tea/coffee facilities, safety deposit boxes, complimentary Wi-Fi and television. Other facilities include pool, fitness suite and gaming room, two restaurants, a café and a lounge bar.

Optional Activities

This was a special holiday to celebrate our retirement and it lived up to our hopes and expectations. Given that we booked this holiday as we hadn’t seen Tigers in Ranthambore, having 5 Tiger sightings on this holiday was brilliant. Loved the Sloth Bears in Taduba and Satpura and a Leopard at Satpura at the eleventh hour. Also saw some unusual species like Giant Squirrels and the Wild Spotted cat. We saw a huge variety of birds but mammals are particularly special for us.
