We have not stinted on the quality of accommodation in our excellent value, island-hopping tour of the Seychelles. Visit three of the main islands of this Indian Ocean archipelago, staying in three very good hotels – one with the option for self-catering (La Digue). There is an inclusive tour on Praslin to the Vallee de Mai, and plenty of other inclusive and optional activities and excursions from which to choose on all the islands. The beaches are beautiful, the scenery stunning, the wildlife wonderful and the sea sublime – an unbeatable recipe for a fabulous island holiday at a great price.

Day 1
Arrive in Mahe

Arrive Mahe, and assisted to connect with your flight to Praslin. Met on arrival at Paslin and transfer to your hotel.

Staying at Le Duc de Praslin. Includes Breakfast.

Day 2
Praslin

Day at leisure. Optional activities include the full-day and highly recommended wildlife and snorkelling boat trip to Cousin, Curieuse & Ste Pierre (Tue/Thu only).

Day 3
Praslin

Enjoy a morning shared guided tour of the UNESCO-listed Vallee de Mai to see the unique coco-de-mer forest and endemic wildlife. Afternoon at leisure to go snorkelling, explore the island by hire car or just relax.

Staying at Le Duc de Praslin. Includes Breakfast.

Day 4
La Digue

Pickup and transfer to the dock. Take the short ferry ride to La Digue. On arrival, met and transfer to your hotel, situated a short distance from the beach. Rest of day at leisure.

Staying at Fleur de Lys. Includes Breakfast.

Day 5
La Digue

Day at leisure to explore the small laid-back island independently. Perhaps hire bicycles and visit lovely Anse Source d’Argent beach and the Black Paradise Flycatcher Reserve, which protects one of the world’s rarest birds.

Day 6
La Digue

Day at leisure to cycle around the island. Visit one or more of the island’s lovely beaches and swim in the warm, calm tropical waters. Perhaps book a boat trip to snorkel Sister Island or maybe enjoy a sunset cruise.

Day 7
Mahe

Pickup and transfer to the dock to take the ferry to Praslin. On arrival, transfer to Praslin airport to catch a flight to Mahe. Transfer on arrival to your last hotel.

Mahe

Day at leisure to enjoy on-site tennis, gym, swimming pool, kayaking and snorkelling. There are also optional activities such as diving, boat trips and cycling.

Mahe

Full day at leisure for on-site inclusive activities, or hire a car to explore Mahe, the largest island, perhaps taking in the Morne Seychellois National Park. The Morne Seychellois is the highest peak in the archipelago and the park protects unique tropical forest and has many trails to explore.

Le Duc de Praslin

Overview

Le Duc de Praslin Hotel sits a block away from a stunning white sand beach, surrounded by lush, tropical, orchid-filled gardens on idyllic Praslin Island. The entire property underwent a complete refurbishment in 2008 to produce updated, modern and stylish accommodation and public areas.

There are five categories of room at Le Duc de Praslin: six deluxe rooms, 14 superior, four junior suites, two honeymoon suites and a special family apartment. All rooms have been tastefully redecorated with stylish décor and offer modern facilities including well-appointed private bathrooms, air-conditioning, LCD TV, ceiling fans, tea and coffee facilities and WiFi (charges may apply).

The family-run hotel offers great value for money and an excellent spread of recreational facilities, including a spa with massage treatment rooms, water sports, and an outdoor pool, Jacuzzi and sun lounge deck.

Local Wildlife

The gardens surrounding the hotel are home to over 100 species of orchid and six giant tortoises regularly come to feed there. The island is home to the World Heritage Site of Vallee de Mai, containing the endemic black parrot, Wright’s skink, colourful day geckos and Seychelles chameleon as well as the unique coco-de-mer palm forest.

Fleur De Lys

Overview

Fleur De Lys is a small self-catering hotel on the western tip of compact and friendly La Digue island. Scot/Seychellois-owned, the hotel is on the edge of the local village and is a short walk or cycle ride from quiet beaches, shallow reefs and native tropical forest. Fleur De Lys does not set out to offer luxury but does provide very private, comfortable and well equipped self-catering bungalows with excellent service from the staff and a helpful, friendly atmosphere.

There are just eight charming bungalows – all decorated in light and neutral colours – with separate bedroom, open plan living room and kitchenette, and modern bathroom with solar powered hot water. The bungalows have air-conditioning (charges may apply) as well as private verandahs and safety deposit boxes. Other facilities include a communal guest lounge, day room and laundry service. Bicycles are available to hire and are an excellent way to explore the island. There is no restaurant on site but fresh, hearty breakfasts can be delivered to your bungalow if requested the day before. There are several good restaurants and shops within walking or cycling distance.

The hotel can arrange boat trips around the island with the possibility for snorkelling. All-day boat outings are also possible, stopping at the beautiful Sister Island for a BBQ lunch and some wonderful snorkelling off Felicite where green and hawksbill turtles cad be seen in season.

Kempinski Resort

Overview

Formerly known as the Plantation Club, the Kempinski was completely renovated but is still located on the stunning white sand beach of Baie Lazare in southern Mahe Island. The resort now offers luxury accommodation and a wide range of facilities and activities.

The accommodation comprises rooms and suites with a choice of hill, beach side, and sea view. All are spacious, with neutral colours, contemporary décor and a small living area with seating, desk and a choice of king or twin beds. Each room is also equipped with a flat screen TV, iPod dock, tea and coffee facility and a private bathroom. Air- conditioning is provided in the public areas and there is complimentary WiFi available throughout the hotel.

The resort has two restaurants: Café Lazare, named after the French explorer Le Capitaine Lazare Picau, serves buffet breakfasts and dinners and has an a la carte menu for lunch. The L’IndoChine restaurant offers a fine dining experience with delicious seafood its speciality. There are also two cocktail bars, communal lounges and a near Olympic-sized infinity pool and separate children’s pool. Other facilities at the resort include two tennis courts, business centre, gym and a spa offering a full range of treatments. Recreational activities available from or near to the resort include kayaking, mountain biking, volleyball, golf, diving and snorkelling (which can be done straight from the beach).
