Very helpful – we went to all the right places, well-designed tour. [Wildlife highlights included:] Orang-utans, gibbons, seeing wildlife unit filming, 5m reticulated python, storm stalks, hornbills, kingfishers, green turtles egg-laying, birdsnest soup caves (but not the cockroaches!), monitor lizards, leopard cats, slow loris, binturong, mouse deer + other deer, fruit bats, black squirrels, some pretty nasty other snakes, flying fish, Borneo pigmy elephants, proboscis monkeys, macaques, otter etc.
The trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos was excellent. The boat was very comfortable and well run and the jungle lodge was fascinating – we saw lots of wildlife, including a rainbow boa beneath our cabin. You were right to advise us to spend the whole week in the islands – any less would not have been long enough. We are certainly considering going to Peru with [our friends] next year, so shall be in touch.
The experience at the Pantanal Wildlife Centre & Jaguar Research Centre was outstanding. Our guide Benedicto was first class – he knew all the fauna, especially the birds and clearly loved them and could not wait to show us everything he knew. We saw the Tapirs at the mango tree (twice), coati, too many birds to list all, at pace which was perfect. At the Jaguar Research Centre the staff did an outstanding job and, OK the camp was not luxurious but WHO CARES? when you have a chance to see the jaguar, and we in fact saw seven. ALL of which were fantastic views, not just a blip in the distance.
We have again had a wonderful wildlife holiday due in large measure to your expert guidance in putting the itinerary together. Brazil was breathtaking in all its different guises and every part of the trip was a holiday in miniature.
Firstly may I say how greatly Peter and I appreciated all you did to give us such a wonderful holiday – it was truly memorable. Great wildlife watching, smooth organisation and a totally trouble-free trip – terrific! We would love to go back to Costa Rica…we had super views of quetzals at Monteverde and also there, two perfect appearances by the three-wattled bellbird. ..With all good wishes and again, our most grateful thanks.
This is just a quick… note to tell you what a fabulous time we had in Rwanda with Janice Booth. We have been to some stunning places before (many of them through you), but Rwanda captivated us in so many different ways that it beats the lot! We expected, of course, to he wowed by the gorillas – but they managed to exceed our expectations. To be so close to such awesome creatures in the wild is not an experience we are likely to forget. What really took us by surprise was the warmth of the welcome that we received from the people…The country itself is beautiful…so much diversity…Janice was terrific and [the local guide] was delightful. We could not have asked for a better team.
[Your representatives] were terrific. Always there on time no matter what hour of day or night. Wildlife guides exceptionally good – knowledgeable, alert, always trying.
Loved it all! 17 species of lemurs, loads of reptiles and endemic birds. Did masses of photography. Highlights included male giraffe necked weevil, witnessing an indri howling and Verreauxs sifakas jumping through the trees in gorgeous early morning light. [Our guide] was great as were local guides. Very happy with the itinerary. We wanted it to be a wildlife holiday as that is our primary interest, but found the landscape variety and tribal dimensions very rewarding too.
Yes, I am back from a wonderfully amazing realisation of a dream to see a jaguar. Too good to put into words. Everything went like clockwork – Sao Paulo airport is a bit of a maze. I landed up pretty well having a one to one trip with my guides. Cristalino was magical with American guides Will and Gill Carter, very much a ‘Birders’ paradise, but I loved it. Then I went on to the Jaguar Research Centre for what turned out to be 3 1/2 days of pure heaven. ‘Fisher’, my guide was brilliant and we managed to see Wilson, Hugo, Duda (on 3 occasions) and an unidentified cat. The young Duda was amazing, we followed her for a whole morning moving along the river bank and then in the evening actually saw her swimming across it. Wonderful memories.
Panama is a lovely country and still relatively unspoilt. It was a fascinating and enjoyable experience. We had a wonderful holiday overall; thank you for organising it.
The best holiday we ever had. Thank you for making it amazing.
