Danpaati River Lodge
Danpaati River Lodge is a remote jungle retreat located on an island in the Upper Suriname River, accessible only by motorised canoe from Atjoni. It offers simple wooden cabanas with private bathrooms and verandas facing the river or forest, along with an open-air restaurant, bar, small swimming pool, and lounge area.
Guests can take guided forest walks, canoe trips, and cultural visits to nearby Saramaccan villages. Electricity is solar-powered and available during limited hours. The lodge also supports local community projects, making it a practical and meaningful base for exploring Suriname’s interior.
