Amanwana Resort
The wilderness hideaway of Amanwana sits on Moyo Island, an unspoilt nature and marine reserve to the east of Bali. The only resort on the island, it is a private paradise surrounded by the turquoise waters and pristine reefs of the Flores Sea. The resort is accessed by sea plane, with direct transfers available three times a week from Bali Denpasar Airport. It can also be arranged to reach the resort from Sumbawa Besar Airport.
Accommodation is in the form of large, stylish tented suites. The two categories available are Jungle or Beach tents – the only difference being the location and view from each. The interiors are the same, being airy and spacious with hardwood furnishings and local Indonesian artwork. The dining room has spectacular ocean views, and serves fresh, local food – much of which is grown or produced on the island. Local fishing boats deliver the catch of the day, which is a highlight of the daily menu and can be cooked to individual taste.
Facilities
All rooms include king sized beds, writing desks, seating areas, ensuite bathrooms, decking areas, air condition and wifi.
Dining room and bar areas, spa, water sports facilities and dive centre. Wide selection of boats including two cruise vessels available for private charter.
Local Wildlife
The island is home to deer, macaques and wild boar; and marine life includes unspoilt coral reefs and schools of vibrant tropical fish, as well as sea turtles, moray eels, puffer fish, parrot fish, spotted rays and many more local species.
Optional Activities
On the island are many hiking and jeep trails, so you could trek to Barry’s Falls – a spring fed waterfall at the heart o the island, or walk through the jungle to find the bat cave. Relax on the crescent beach, or enjoy water sports, kayaking, sailing, diving and snorkelling off shore. Take one of the resort’s extensive boat fleet on a visit to nearby Komodo island or a relaxing sunset cruise. Join the chef for a culinary class, or on a visit to the kitchen garden to pick the local produce.
