Mombo Concession
Sanctuary Chief’s Camp
One of the Delta’s most exclusive lodges, Chief’s Camp is located in the Mombo Concession, part of the Moremi Game Reserve. The camp is situated on the north-western tip of Chief’s Island, in what is termed the seasonal Delta. This concession is revered as one of the region’s prime game-viewing destinations and is known as the “predator capital” of Africa.
The accommodation comprises ten 141- 620 square metre luxury tented pavillions, each offering en suite facilities and a balcony with a private plunge pool. The bathroom comes complete with floor to ceiling windows, folding glass doors, a spacious outdoor shower and an indulgent, large bath tub. Your comfort is ensured with five-star amenities including air conditioning and fans as well as an espesso machine. The new Geoffrey Kent Suite features two inter-leading pavilions sleeping a maximum of six guests.
The main lodge complex houses the dining area, where world-class cuisine is served with African ‘flair’. There is an elegant bar, curio shop, library and orientation room, as well as a pizza terrace and large swimming pool with views across the floodplains where you will often see elephants at close range. In addition Chief’s Camp features a luxury secluded spa with a full range of treatments available, a fitness centre and a kids’ play room.
Game viewing in the Mombo area of Chief’s Island is nothing short of spectacular at any given time. Apart from its predators, the area is also renowned for its large concentrations of plains game, elephant and buffalo. Game-drives are conducted in open 4×4 safari vehicles and mokoro excursions are available, depending on seasonal water levels.

Local Wildlife
Rhino have been reintroduced here completing an impressive list of game animals including lion, leopard, wild dog, elephant, antelope, zebra, buffalo, genet cats and hyena.

Game drives and mokoro excursions included on a shared basis. Spa treatments and helicopter flights extra.

We are passionate about wildlife and photography, whether that is on land or snorkelling happily in pristine reefs. We have been fortunate to visit some wonderful places organised by you, including Madagascar, Costa Rica, Peru, Chile, India, Africa, and Indonesia, often returning to discover new and exciting places. Each trip has exceeded expectations. This is attributable to your deep local knowledge, meticulous planning, relentless attentiveness to our wishes and generous time spent discussing the trips. You have often delighted and surprised us with personal touches such as organising a surprise birthday cake.
We just returned from Botswana having thoroughly enjoyed the wildlife adventure by tented camp. It was exceptional in all respects, and we are delighted to see that you have quoted us on your website. Apologies that we have failed dismally to acknowledge your efforts to date. We will share some pictures when we have edited them !!!
