The Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park is a 32 kilometre-long natural waterway connecting Lakes George and Edward and attracting lots of big game for a wallow and drink. The channel alone is said to contain the world’s largest concentration of hippos and you can also expect to see crocodiles, elephants and buffalo aplenty. The river banks provide a happy home for bee-eaters, kingfishers and other birdlife among the 600-plus species found in the park.
