Alami Alor Dive Resort
With its scenic charm, wide mix of cultures, and some of the best diving in South-East Asia, the often overlooked island of Alor is absolutely worth a place on your Indonesian, island-hopping adventure.
The Alor Archipelago, located in the heart of the Coral Triangle, boasts some of the most pristine and diverse coral reefs in Indonesia. These reefs are renowned for their vibrant marine life, including colourful coral gardens, steep limestone walls, and a variety of unique macro life such as nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses, and frogfish. The area is also known for its excellent visibility and the presence of larger pelagic species like eagle rays, barracuda, and even occasional sightings of hammerhead sharks.
Accommodation at Alami Alor consists of seven individual bungalows. These are spacious and beautifully furnished. Connected by a network of neat, pebble pathways, each unit has its own tropical hardwood veranda and private, oceanfront seating area. There is a main structure – that exudes the quintessential tropical island feel – that is the open-air communal area. This structure houses the dining area, where the fully included meals are served up at a communal table. Traditional Indonesian cooking is heavily represented in the cuisine created, however some western options are available at breakfast. A small infinity pool fills the veranda on one side, with breezy lounging areas along the adjacent side. These areas allow for uninterrupted views of the sunsets over Kalabahi Bay.

Due to seasonal weather conditions, the best time to visit Alor’s coral reefs is from March through to December for both ideal surface and underwater conditions. In season, underwater visibility can be absolutely outstanding ranging from 15 meters / 50 feet in our shoulder season to 40 meters / 132 feet in the height of our dry season.
