Belmond Sanctuary Lodge is wonderfully located adjacent to the fascinating Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding lush jungle. Staying here, you’ll enjoy exceptionally easy access from early morning to late afternoon. This is an ideal time to explore, when most of the day visitors and buses have left.
The four room categories (standard, superior terrace, deluxe and suites) ensure that there is an option to suit all needs. All rooms boast modern décor and furnishings, and provide ensuite bathrooms, twin or king-sized beds, minibars and other modern amenities.
The Tampu restaurant serves delicious local cuisine for all meals and the Tinkuy restaurant is available for lunchtimes. The Tampu bar offers traditional cocktails and drinks, alongside international favourites and sometimes local live music performances.

Optional Activities
The Sanctuary Lodge is happy to arrange bespoke tours of the surrounding area, whether guests want a serene walk to the picture-perfect Sun Gate or aim to tackle the challenging climb up Huayna Picchu, there will be an option to satisfy their desires. Trips into the citadel are a common choice due to the superb location, and the spa and wellness centre on site provides an option for more relaxing pastimes. Alternatively, take part in a Pachamama tribute ceremony, or have your future told in a coca leaf reading ceremony.
