Chilcabamba Mountain Lodge
Set at 3,400 metres above sea level on the edge of Cotopaxi National Park, Chilcabamba Mountain Lodge offers a warm and welcoming base from which to explore Ecuador’s high Andean landscapes. Surrounded by páramo grasslands and dramatic volcanic peaks, the lodge provides rustic yet comfortable accommodation with wood-burning stoves, thick duvets, and panoramic views of Cotopaxi’s snow-capped summit. The main lodge features a cosy communal area with a fireplace and locally inspired décor, while the on-site restaurant serves hearty Ecuadorian meals made from fresh, regional ingredients.

Bring layers and a good pair of binoculars—mornings can be crisp, and the lodge’s high-altitude setting offers excellent chances to spot Andean condors soaring over Cotopaxi’s slopes.
