Western India
Elsewhere
Situated on a peaceful stretch of beautiful beach near Goa, Elsewhere is an accommodation complex comprising four lovely beach houses, and three ‘otter creek’ tents. There are one, two or three bedroom options in the beach houses, and each is simply yet comfortably furnished. The houses are all named after their historical roles (The Bakery, The Priest’s House, The Captain’s House and The Piggery), and have been renovated to keep their traditional feel but with updated décor and facilities. The beach is semi private – cut off on all sides by water – and very protected. The incline is gradual and the sea is safe for swimming.
The property was bought by Anjelo Zeferino Sequeria in 1886, who purchased it as a family holiday destination. Having been passed down the family – now being run by Angelo’s great grandson – the property has retained its homely feel and is inspired by the owners happy memories of childhood holidays relaxing by the sea and hoping to catch a glimpse of the turtle hatching. Guests are encouraged to take the same simple joy in their surroundings.
Facilities
Rooms include refrigerated minibars, en suite toilets and showers, iPod docks in the two and three bedroom beach houses, fans, outdoor showers. There is a so-called dining shack where meals are served.
Local Wildlife
The whole area is a nature lovers dream with an abundance of birds and river life including Otters that nest only a few meters upstream from the tents and can be seen swimming past the tents if you are lucky. If your visit coincides with the nesting of a Marine Turtle on the beach or the hatching of marine turtles, you may witness one of the most memorable wonders of nature.
Optional Activities
There is a nearby yoga centre at which guests can take classes, and the chance to watch turtle hatching in the right season.

The road ends about 30 metres from the creek, so a short walk and crossing a wobbly bamboo bridge are necessary. Therefore this property may not be suitable for those with mobility problems!

Amazing. Some of the best food eaten anywhere, and the house was stunning too. Staff arranged a few trips and gave great advice, the security guards even played beach cricket with my son. Very, very special place.
