Southern Namibia
Little Kulala
Little Kulala is a more luxurious and exclusive sister property to Kulala Desert Lodge, both situated in the private 37,000-hectare Kulala Wilderness Reserve. The accommodation is in 11 climate-controlled, thatched “kulalas” (the word means ‘to sleep’), which blend into the desert landscape. Each of the bungalow-style rooms comes with a private plunge pool, indoor and outdoor showers and has stylish, neutrally coloured décor inspired by the desert landscape that surrounds it.
The lodge provides a luxurious base from which to explore the Sossusvlei area and enables early access to sites such as Deadvlei, affording the best morning and evening light for photography. Both Kulalas enjoy the benefit of their own private entrance to Namib-Naukluft National Park, only a short distance away, which avoids the need to travel many miles to the main gate. Early arrival at Sossusvlei allows you to see the desert sunrise and have the magical place to yourself for a while before the rest get there.
Facilities
Dining room, lounge, bar, plunge pool, climate conrol, library, craft boutique, wine cellar and indoor and outdoor showers.
Local Wildlife
The wildlife of this region includes ostrich, springbok, gemsbok ground squirrels and small numbers of bat-eared foxes, black-backed jackals, aardwolf and brown hyenas. Smaller desert adapted wildlife including scorpions, barking geckos, and fascinating insects and plants can be seen and the area is home to the endemic dune lark.

Excursions to visit the Sesriem Canyon, impressive sand dunes at Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei and nature drives and walks in the Kulala Wilderness Reserve.

Little Kulala was excellent and we would definitely return! Rooms were excellent and sleeping on the roof is not to be missed. Good food and wines too.
