Loloata Island Resort

Scroll

Located just a 40 minute boat ride from Port Moresby, Loloata is a world away from its busy city neighbour with a quiet location, small white sand beach and doorstep snorkelling and diving.  The island is located within Bootless Bay and offers some surprisingly good diving with over 29 dive sites spread over nearby reefs (including Nateara Reef and the Sunken Barrier Reef) plus a series of purposely-sunk wrecks.

First established in 1977, the property has been lovingly upgraded throughout to create an upmarket boutique resort with 68 tastefully appointed suites and villas, set overwater or on the oceanfront, overlooking the small private beach and house reef.

Facilities

Rooming options include 20 Waterfront Executive suites; 40 Hillside Oceanview rooms and six water view rooms. The rooms are nestled into the side of the island, with their contemporary design and white colour scheme creating a lovely contrast against the vegetation. The resort benefits for a dive school, spa, restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, bar and garden. A selection of PADI Dive Courses are available.

Optional Activities

Diving, snorkelling, swimming, spa treatments, water sports.

There should never be less than three nights in this sensational location [Ambua Lodge] with a superb climate (hot during the day and cool at night) with very good food, and seeing the amazing Huli Wigmen with their outstanding head-dresses.
