Loloata Island Resort

Scroll

Located just a 15-minute ferry ride from the capital of Port Moresby, Loloata island is an incredible diving hotspot – wonderfully secluded yet conveniently situated. Originally established in 1977 as a small 21 room Resort, Loloata will re-open in early 2019 as a world class Island Resort offering access to some of the world’s best diving in their 29 recognised dive sites.

Diving in the Port Moresby area is seasonally variable: January to early March is the wet season, causing reduced visibility; early June to early October is the dry season, during which South East trade winds can cause choppy seas, but visibility is good; and late October to early December is generally viewed to be the best time, with good visibility and calm seas. At Loloata diving is available year round, and several of the sites are accessible and well protected even on rougher days.

Rooming options available are 20 Waterfront Executive suites; 40 Hilside Oceaniew rooms and six water view rooms. The rooms are nestled into the side of the island, with their contemporary design and white colour scheme creating a lovely contrast against the vegetation.
