Mount Totumas Cloud Forest
Mount Totumas Cloud Forest offers eco-friendly accommodations crafted from sustainable timber harvested from the reserve’s second-growth forests. Supporting local craftsmanship, the lodge’s furniture is made by local artisans. There are four separate accommodation blocks: The Bellbird Lodge, The Coffee House, The Cabin and The Tree House. Rooms have en suite bathrooms and private balconies overlooking the stunning cloud forest. Powered by renewable energy from a micro-hydro power station, the lodge provides free Wi-Fi and 24-hour electricity.
At an elevation of 1,900 metres above sea level, Mount Totumas Cloud Forest offers a pristine 162 hectare reserve bordering La Amistad National Park accessible only by 4WD vehicle, with transportation services available from Volcan, David, and Boquete. Mount Totumas also offers secure parking for 2WD rental cars in Volcan. Nine trails span over 40 kilometres, inviting exploration through a stunning landscape, including second-growth and old-growth forests, pastures, riparian zones, and edge habitats. Birding enthusiasts will revel in sightings of the resplendent quetzal, three-wattled bellbird, over 200 other bird species, three primate species, and countless other wildlife.

I would like to thank you for putting together such an excellent trip and to highlight a few items. The service provided in country was first class. All drivers were on time and went beyond the call of duty to be of service. I have never been on holiday where the standard of bird guiding has been so good.
