The Last House

Scroll

The Last House is a vibrant and peaceful Sri Lankan hotel on the south coast where you can easily relax or enjoy visits to see the stunning wildlife, culture and heritage nearby.

Located in Tangale, it is Geoffrey Bawa’s final example of his infamous architecture around Sri Lanka, that is colourful, airy and stylish in a way that makes you feel at home. The building and the rooms are spacious and open, which are designed to make use of the sea breeze to cool the rooms down.

After a long day exploring in the national park or out whale watching you can take a dip in the idyllic pool or go for a swim in the sea on the wonderfully quiet beach at the end of the garden.

The fact that there are no TV’s in the rooms means it does encourage a peaceful atmosphere and that you are on the beach, away from anything, makes for the most relaxing stay you can have in Sri Lanka.

To make things more incredible, the food is delicious and the staff are wonderful.

We were absolutely thrilled by the whole experience and can only commend the helpfulness and friendliness of everyone who made our holiday so special. We cannot speak highly enough of all of our guides who were extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond to enhance  our Sri Lankan wildlife encounters. We felt very privileged to be with guides who have so much expertise.
