Tsara Guest House

Scroll

Tsara Guest House is a beautiful welcoming and atmospheric property in Fianarantsoa (Fiana), Madagascar’s second largest city. Situated on a hillside with wonderful views from the garden and rooms, it makes an ideal overnight stop between the Ranomafana and Isalo National Parks.

Facilities

Tsara Guesthouse has 18 rooms of varying sizes equipped with cable TV, a safe and en-suite shower room. Each is simple but attractively furnished. The wonderful onsite restaurant serving delicious food is popular amongst visitors and locals. Evening meals are taken in the conservatory where very good French-style cuisine is served from an a la carte menu. There is also a small garden and a bar.

Optional Activities

The town of Fianarantsoa is vibrant with many craftsmen working within it and tea plantations a short distance away. Tsara Guest House is often a stop for people on the route between Isalo National Park and Antananarivo, or those on the way to Ranomafana or Andringitra National Parks.

Loved it all! 17 species of lemurs, loads of reptiles and endemic birds. Did masses of photography. Highlights included male giraffe necked weevil, witnessing an indri howling and Verreauxs sifakas jumping through the trees in gorgeous early morning light. [Our guide] was great as were local guides. Very happy with the itinerary. We wanted it to be a wildlife holiday as that is our primary interest, but found the landscape variety and tribal dimensions very rewarding too.
