Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

One of the oldest and most biologically diverse forests in Africa, Bwindi contains more than 400 species of plant, 350 species of bird and 120 species of mammal including forest elephant, various antelopes and baboon. It is also home to at least 200 butterfly species. But there is one particular attraction everyone comes here to see: the mountain gorilla. Bwindi holds the world’s largest remaining population of these greatest of great apes, dispersed in family groups of which eleven are sufficiently habituated to facilitate visits from small numbers of tourists.
