A 10 square kilometre swamp containing three biospheres within the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and en route to Murchison Falls National Park, the Lugogo Wetlands are home to more than 350 species of bird including many raptors, white crested turaco, giant kingfisher, various barbets and speckle breasted woodpecker. The reserve is known for being one of Africa’s best locations in which to spot shoebill stork.
