Located just outside the eastern gate of Etosha National Park (Von Lindequist Gate), the 20,000 hectares of Onguma Private Nature Reserve border Fisher’s Pan and is home to predators such as lion, leopard and cheetah as well as several plains game species such as giraffe, eland, hartebeest, kudu, gemsbok (oryx) and impala. Migratory birds bring the summer bird species count to around 300. A good selection of lodges provide game drives on the reserve. Most guests use Onguma as a perfect base from which to explore eastern Etosha National Park.
