A small settlement best known for the access point to the Namib-Naukluft National Park and Sossusvlei at Sesriem Gate and for the nearby Sesriem Canyon. There is a fuelling station, shops for general supplies and various campsites and accommodation choices in the area. Excursions such as hot air ballooning over the dunes depart from Sesriem Gate.
