Travel to the Andean regions of Cusco and the Sacred Valley of the Incas, rich in Inca history and culture; cross Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world; explore La Paz, the highest capital city in the world; marvel at the Uyuni salt flat, the largest in the world; and the Atacama Desert, the world’s driest desert with its saline, emerald lagoons and resident flamingos.
Travelling by air, overland and water the highlights of these varied destinations will be experienced first-hand, including numerous natural and archaeological wonders of the world. Full Itinerary
Arrive in Lima, the capital city of Peru. You will be greeted on arrival and assisted with your quick and easy transfer to the airport hotel.
Staying at Wyndham Airport Hotel. Includes No Meals.
Board your flight from Lima to Cusco. You will again be met on arrival, and transferred to your hotel close to Cusco's main square. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax and acclimatise to the altitude.
Staying at Casa Andina Classic Cusco Plaza. Includes Breakfast.
Transfer to Poroy train station on the outskirts of Cusco and board the comfortable train service to Machu Picchu.
The famous lost city of the Incas is one of the most evocative places in Peru. It is perched on a mountain ridge 600 metres above the Urubamba River which winds spectacularly through the valley below. The mountainside is clad in thick cloud forest, often covered in mists which are quickly burnt off by the powerful equatorial sun. Constructed from precisely sculpted granite blocks carefully joined with the projecting exposed stone of the surrounding mountain, Machu Picchu may well be the finest architectural achievement of the new world. Your guide will tell you the story of the rise and fall of the ancient civilisations of the Andes, the tragic end of the Incas, and the unresolved mystery that this ‘lost city’ remains. Return to Cusco in the late afternoon.

Guided tour of the important Inca and colonial sites of Cusco including Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, and Qorikancha, as well as surrounding Inca sites such as Sacsayhuaman and Tambo Machay. The afternoon is at leisure.

Transfer to the train station and travel on the PeruRail Titicaca train from Cusco to Puno. This town sits on the shore of Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake. Met on arrival and transfer to hotel.

Spend a full day exploring Lake Titicaca and visit some of the communities that make the the world’s highest navigable lake their home. Visit the floating islands of the Uros and see how the communities live. Visit Taquile Island, to marvel at past Inca settlements and interact with the communities that live here. Return to your hotel in Puno at the end of the day.

After an early breakfast shared transfer overland to the town of Copacabana on the Bolivian side of Lake Titicaca. Visit the restored Moorish style basilica, home to the 16th century miracle-working Virgin Morena (Dark Virgin). Then board your hydrofoil for a shared transfer to Sun Island. Here you will visit the Inca staircase and sacred fountain.
Continue by hydrofoil to Moon Island and visit the sun virgin’s temple. Then board hydrofoil again for a 45-minute journey to Huatajata on the Bolivian mainland. Here visit the Andean Roots Eco Village which houses the Altiplano Museum before transferring overland to La Paz.

After breakfast enjoy a tour with your private guide of La Paz, at 3,636 metres elevation the highest capital city in the world! Explore a mix of indigenous, colonial and modern areas of the city, including the indian market, the Witches Market, and enjoy a cable car ride for magnificent views across the city. Spend the afternoon at leisure to relax at the hotel or explore the city on your own.

This morning transfer to La Paz airport for the flight to Uyuni. Met on arrival and transfer to Luna Salada Hotel de Sal. The hotel is located outside the town on a hill overlooking the salt flats with incredible sunset views, and peaceful star-filled nights.

Today enjoy a full day private excursion across the Uyuni salt flats. Uyuni is the world’s highest salt flat at an altitude of 3,650 metres, and the largest at 10,582 square kilometres. Areas to explore could include Isla del Pescador (Incahuasi) which is covered by gigantic cactus up to 100 years old, or the small village of Tahua at the foot of Thunupa Volcano.

Spend the entire day transferring overland from Uyuni to San Pedro de Atacama in Chile through a landscape of deserts, mountains, and colourful lakes inhabited by up to three species of flamingos. In Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve the landscape is characterised by lakes, salt pans, volcanoes, snow-capped peaks, plains, thermal springs, rivers rich in algae and plankton, and geothermal geysers. Visit the Sol de Mañana Geysers where fumaroles and volcanic craters at an altitude of 4,900 metres spout a mixture of water and superheated steam.
Continue to Hito Cajon (Bolivia-Chile border) and on to your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama in the world’s driest desert.

After a relaxed morning head out with your private guide to explore the bizarre rock agglomerations and strange formations of Death Valley, and then watch the sun set over Moon Valley. Along the way from San Pedro towards Calama stop for the opportunity to take some great pictures of the Andean Mountain range, the huge salt lake of Atacama, the active Lascar Volcano and the impressive Licancabur Volcano.

An early departure from San Pedro with your guide, heading north to the famous El Tatio Geysers, a geothermal field flanked by soaring peaks at 4,300 metre elevation on the Altiplano. It is the highest geothermal field in the world and boasts spectacular scenery. Return to your hotel around lunchtime and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

After breakfast, transfer to Calama airport for a flight to Chile's capital city, Santiago and some time to relax before your flight home the next day.

Overview
This modern hotel is located in the Zona Sur neighbourhood, a more affluent area and less chaotic than downtown La Paz. The striking building is an architectural landmark in the city, with its curved glass roof that allows for ample natural light to pour into a large open space they call the ‘Atrium’.
A 30 minute taxi ride, or a far more interesting journey on La Paz’s cable car network ‘Mi Teleferico’, will take you to sights of interest in the centre of the city, such as the markets, churches and plazas.
The wellness centre or spa is accessible to all guests of the hotel. It contains a steam room/hammam, sauna, indoor heated pool, whirlpool tub, massage room and gym.
Reputed to be the highest golf course in the world, La Paz Golf Club has use of both its 18 hole course and driving range accessible to guests of the hotel.

Built on a small area of elevated land, on the edge of the Salar de Uyuni, Luna Salada has panoramic views of this other-worldly landscape. Immediately to the West lies the vast expanse of brilliant white salt flats, stretching out as far as the eye can see.
The hotel’s primary construction material is locally harvested salt from the adjacent flats. This includes the room’s walls, floors and even furniture. Locally woven fabrics add further Andean character to the spaces and plush warm bedding helps to ensure you stay comfortable throughout the cold nights that are typical here. There is a distinct French influence, though the hotel is Chilean owned! There is a cosy, attractive living room, and a lovely interior garden. Breakfast only is provided, though there are plenty of meal options steps from the hotel.
