Madagascar’s Whale Sharks, Lemurs and Tsingy
A fantastic wildlife itinerary taking in Madagascar’s top natural attractions in the north along with the wildlife rich rainforests of Andasibe.
Beginning with the tropical rainforests of Andasibe, there will be encounters with singing indri’s and acrobatic black-and-white ruffed lemurs along with fascinating smaller creatures such as tenrecs, giraffe-necked weevils and colourful treefrogs.
Heading north to the mysterious and isolated rainforest Montagne D Ambre National Park there is a wealth of locally endemic wildlife to enjoy including some of the world’s tiniest reptiles; the unbelievably small Brookesia leaf chameleons.
From here visit the remote Andranomanera Protected Reserve which protects a large area of hilly semi humid and dry deciduous forest home to the incredibly rare Perrier’s sifaka.
Next comes the strangely eroded karst limestone tsingy peaks of Ankarana Special Reserve containing bat caves, sunken dry deciduous forests and abundant lemurs.
After all that adventure enjoy a relaxing staying by the beach on the beautiful island of Nosy Be. From your base on Nosy Be enjoy some thrilling snorkelling excursions with whale sharks and green turtles and with black lemurs and panther chameleons in the Lokobe Reserve.
